According to CHP spokesman Adam Shelton, who relayed information from the Modesto office of the CHP, officers tried to stop Stephen Evans on Highway 132 in Stanislaus County on suspicion of speeding. Shelton said Evans then led the officers on a chase at speeds that reached as high as 125 mph.
