The driver, described as a black man with a shaved head wearing black nylon sweatpants, was driving a blue Dodge Charger west on Lowell Avenue when officers tried to stop him at 10:27 p.m.
He allegedly jumped out of the vehicle and was seen running on Carlton Way, just south of Lowell Avenue.
A K-9 unit from the Modesto police was used in the search.
Officers arrested a female passenger inside the vehicle, but the log did not indicate that charges were filed. Police did not find the man, and called off the search at 11:12 p.m.
The vehicle was towed, and a report is expected.

2:02 a.m.: Police arrested a 27-year-old man during a traffic stop on the 1900 block of West 11th Street for an outstanding warrant form the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.
3:22 a.m.: A 21-year-old man was arrested during a traffic stop in the area of East and Acadia streets for driving under the influence.

Arrested female passenger out of spite, had nothing on her and had to release her at the station house.
Modesto k-9 showed up 45 minutes later. The criminal probably went the liquor store, drank a beer, smoked a blunt, and still had time to drive back to Oakland/Stockton, before the k-9 showed up.
Hahaha crime fighting in this town is a joke. Protect yourselves people! Tracy Pd can't help you at all!
