A car dealership clerk called at 10:35 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, to report a customer used a denied credit card to pay for repairs at Tracy Chevrolet, 3400 Auto Plaza Way. He said the customer’s credit card was denied, but the customer kept calling the company on the phone and eventually a person on the phone gave the dealership an authorization number for $1,290.01 in charges. The caller said the dealership found out later that the confirmation was fraudulent and the customer’s address was also fake. Police are investigating.

Tracy police received 174 calls for service Thursday, Sept. 13. The following is a sample of those calls.

12:19 a.m.: Police cited a man for having an open container of alcohol outside Denny’s at 3718 N. Tracy Blvd. The citation followed a call from a clerk in the restaurant for a man talking to himself, pacing, in front of the restaurant.

1:44 a.m.: A man called to report a woman with a restraining order keeps calling him and having her son text him pictures on the 2900 block of MacArthur Drive.

2:05 a.m.: A man said he saw two men break into his car and take a stereo, clothing and siphon gasoline near Anthony Drive and Gentry Court. The men were last seen walking on Lammers Road.

2:40 p.m.: Police are investigating a possible child abuse situation after a baby was brought into Sutter Tracy Community Hospital, 1420 N. Tracy Blvd., with injuries from a fall. A doctor told police he suspected abuse, and the child was flown to Children’s Hospital in Oakland.

6:33 p.m.: A woman reported teens in a car were speeding near Cottage Grove and Remington ways. She said she told them to slow down and they made obscene gestures toward her. Police talked to the father of one teen, who admitted to speeding. The father said he would deal with the issue.

7:23 p.m.: A woman told police she wanted to file battery charges against her sister after she punched her on the 3200 block of Ormonde Court. She said she was attacked when she went over to the house to get her property. The case was forwarded to the district attorney’s office.

9:25 p.m.: A caller said his rear car window was broken by a BB pellet on the 1500 block of Whispering Wind Drive.

11:11 p.m.: A caller reported three to four mask-wearing teens were shooting paintballs at parked cars near Alum Rock Court and Pacheco Drive. Police contacted a group of teens with Airsoft guns. The victim that was hit told police he didn’t want to press charges.
