Police Log: Cops encourage sober search

A stolen wallet was reported by a man on the 100 block of East Grant Line Road at 3:29 p.m. Tuesday, July 10. He told police he suspected his girlfriend took it. Police talked to the man, who was found to be intoxicated, and he agreed to look for the wallet when he was sober.

Tracy police received 172 calls for service Tuesday, July 10. The following is a sampling of those calls.

12:34 a.m.: Police arrested a 20-year-old woman for trespassing on the 3200 block of Honeydew Court after a caller reported a woman climbed into her son’s bedroom window and refused to leave.

12:46 a.m.: Three people were seen looking at the ground with flashlights near Promenade Circle and Woodland Lane. Police found they were looking for a break in a water line.

6:56 a.m.: following a traffic stop near Corral Hollow Road and Tennis Lane, police arrested a 29-year-old man for an outstanding warrant out of Livermore for domestic violence.

9:59 a.m.: An injured bird was inside a woman’s residence on the 100 block of Berverdor Avenue. She called back seven minutes later to say the bird flew away.

10:11 a.m.: Two neighbors were seen arguing over someone cutting down a tree on the 400 block of Eveningside Lane.

11:28 a.m.: Police issued a warning to a dog owner after a caller reported a dog panting in a closed car on the 1300 block of West 11th Street.

12:52 p.m.: A caller reported that someone stole his insurance fraud badge from his car at Mandarin Villa Restaurant, 2501 N. Tracy Blvd.

4:12 p.m.: Police arrested a 46-year-old woman for an outstanding warrant near Rugby Court and Hampshire Lane. The arrest occurred after an off-duty California Highway Patrol officer reportedly saw the woman crash into a basketball court.

5:35 p.m.: Several guns were reported missing from a home burglary on the 1800 block of Radcliff Court.

5:45 p.m.: Police arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion of being drunk in public near Hirsch School, 1280 Dove Drive. The man, who was reportedly passed out on the sidewalk, was taken to Sutter Tracy Community Hospital, where he reportedly fought with staff. Hospital staff called police at 11 p.m. to report the same man ran out of the emergency room. Police found him on 11th Street.

11:24 p.m.: Police found property stolen from a woman’s yard on the 200 block of West 22nd Street hidden under a nearby tree. The items were returned to the woman.
