Arielle, a small 1-year-old cat, and her three kittens are all in need of homes. Arielle weighs 6 or 7 pounds. She can be adopted for $47 during Animal Rescue of Tracy’s “Red White and Black” sale, which continues through July 4. The adoption fee covers spaying, rabies and other vaccinations and a visit to the veterinarian. Animal Rescue of Tracy is a nonprofit, all-volunteer rescue group that has pet adoption fairs for dogs and cats from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays in the Macy’s wing of the West Valley Mall, 3200 Naglee Road. Members will also make arrangements to show animals in rescue during the week. For information: 642-4324 or www.animalrescuetracy.org.
Annie, a spayed Jack Russell terrier mix, is about 18 months old and weighs about 15 pounds. Energetic and friendly, she enjoys interacting with people and other dogs. Annie is deaf and has already learned to respond to some hand signals. According to People for Pets volunteers, deaf dogs can be trained successfully with a little extra time and effort. Because of her high energy level and deafness, Annie is not recommended for families with children younger than 6. People for Pets hosts adoption fairs between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturdays at PetSmart, 2477 N. Naglee Road. For information: 933-6274 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
