Pecan, a 1½-year-old pit bull mix, is playful, especially with young dogs of all sizes, and likes to give kisses. She also walks fairly well on a leash. Her new home should have secure fencing and no cats or other small pets. When she was found in the country, she had recently had puppies, but is now spayed, microchipped and current on vaccinations. Animal Rescue of Tracy is a nonprofit rescue group that has adoption fairs for dogs and cats from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays in the Macy’s wing of the West Valley Mall, 3200 Naglee Road. Sansa, a 10-week-old female Chihuahua mix, is described as a sweet, happy puppy. She will be available to pre-approved adopters at Maddie’s Adoptathon — an event during which adoption fees are waived — on May 31 and June 1 at Stoneridge Mall in Pleasanton. East of Eden, a nonprofit animal rescue organization, will be there both days. Regular adoption fairs take place at Petco, 2888 Grant Line Road, from noon to 3 p.m. Saturdays.
