Gavin sometimes acts shy, but rescue volunteers from East of Eden describe him as loving and playful once he gets acquainted. He will be 4 years old in April and has been in rescue since he was a puppy. Gavin does well with cats and loves to play with other dogs at the park. He likes to sleep alongside his favorite person at night, and he would thrive in a home with older children or adults. East of Eden, a nonprofit animal rescue organization, has reduced Gavin’s adoption fee to $100 in hopes of finding him a home of his own. He will be at Petco, 2888 Grant Line Road, from noon to 3 p.m. Saturdays with East of Eden volunteers and other adoptable pets. For information, call 815-5186 or visit www.eoerescue.org.
Zuri, a tabby domestic shorthair, likes to be petted and cuddled and will chase after a small ball. He gets along with small dogs and children, but he would do best as the only cat. This playful young cat is about 18 months old. Animal Rescue of Tracy is a nonprofit, all-volunteer rescue group that has weekly adoption fairs for dogs and cats from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays in the Macy’s wing of the West Valley Mall, 3200 Naglee Road. The organization is also participating in a March Madness adoption event with six other rescue groups from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 22 at the mall and is accepting donations for an April 5 yard sale.
