To the rescue

Cookie, a 4-month-old silver tabby kitten with white paws and a white belly, is ready to be adopted from Animal Rescue of Tracy. A rescue volunteer described her as “sweet and sugary … with everything else nice.” Animal Rescue of Tracy is a nonprofit, all-volunteer group that has pet adoption fairs for dogs and cats from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays in the Macy’s wing of the West Valley Mall, 3200 Naglee Road. Members will also make arrangements to show animals in rescue during the week. For information: 642-4324 or www.animalrescuetracy.org.

At the shelter

Momma, a 2-year-old brown tabby, is at the Tracy Animal Shelter and needs a home. The shelter staff is seeking donations of dry cat food, canned pet food, dog toys, flea shampoo and puppy and kitten formula. The shelter, 370 Arbor Road, is open from noon to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. For information: 831-6364 or “City of Tracy Animal Services” on Facebook
