To the resuce

Chloe, an orange-and-white tabby kitten, is 12 weeks old and ready to be adopted. She has been bottle-fed by her foster family and has a sweet temperament. Chloe and other cats will be available to meet during Feline Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. July 19 in the Macy’s wing of the West Valley Mall, 3200 Naglee Road. Animal Rescue of Tracy, a nonprofit, all-volunteer rescue group, also has weekly pet adoption fairs for dogs and cats from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays. Members will make arrangements to show animals in rescue during the week. During the Cat and Dog Days of Summer, all adoptions are discounted by $20 until Labor Day. For information: 642-4324 or www.animalrescuetracy.org.

At the shelter

Charlotte, a 3-year-old female Queensland-beagle mix, is recovering from a laceration to her abdomen and is ready for adoption at the Tracy Animal Shelter. Shelter staff members believe Charlotte was frightened by fireworks on the Fourth of July and was injured when she jumped over a fence. She was treated by a veterinarian and is ready for adoption. The staff is seeking donations of canned food for dogs and cats, dog toys, puppy and kitten formula and flea shampoo. The shelter, 370 Arbor Road, is open from noon to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. For information: 831-6364 or www.facebook.com/pages/City-of-Tracy-Animal-Services/111907492220255.
