Construction crews raised six sets of stadium lights Tuesday, Dec. 11, as the new Wayne Schneider Stadium continues to take shape.

The stadium — which features a nine-lane track and football field — is expected to be finished in time for the kickoff of the 2013 football season.

“We got a break in the weather and a chance to get it done,” said Bill Sheets, project manager with Roebbelen Contracting of El Dorado Hills.

Crews are also working to install underground utilities, foundation work for the ticket booth and restrooms and footings for the new bleachers.

“If the dry weather continues you’ll see things changing pretty quickly,” Sheets said.
