Thursday’s concert was the first at the park since a 14-month long renovation was undertaken at the park on Eaton Avenue and East Street — the free concert series had moved to the lawn near City Hall for 2011.
Hurricane Sam and the Hotshots played blues and ragtime for about 200 people gathered on the lawn under the trees during an unseasonably chilly and breezy June evening.
The concert series continues next Thursday, June 28, with the retro sounds of the rock cover band Rippin at 7 p.m. The concert is free, and visitors are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets and a picnic to enjoy the show.
There will be no concert on July 5 because of the previous day’s festivities, but the concert series will pick up where it left off on July 12.
