The 17th graduating class from West High walked across the stage to collect their diplomas on the field at Steve Lopez Stadium on Saturday, June 2.

Diplomas were handed out to 514 students.

Senior class president Matt Durant told his classmates that, regardless of their motivations, all could now celebrate their achievement of getting that high school diploma.

The stands weren’t as crowded as in years past, as graduates were able to hand out only six tickets each to family and friends. There also wasn’t the overflow and long lines down Lowell Avenue like last year.

For the full graduation story, read the Friday, June 8 edition of the Tracy Press.
