Services will be Tuesday, Sept. 25, for longtime Tracy resident Manuel Mendoza, 81, an H.J. Heinz Co. retiree, who died Tuesday, Sept. 18, in Tracy.

Mr. Mendoza was born in Villahermosa, Tabasco, Mexico, and worked 30 years as a forklift operator at the local Heinz factory. He had lived in Tracy the past 40 years.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Maria Mendoza of Tracy; six children, Clemente Mendoza of Mexico, Martha Mendoza of Denver, Colo., Manuel Mendoza Jr., and his wife, Lisa, of Tracy, Xochitl Ramirez, and her husband, Javier, of Modesto, Guadalupe Mendoza of Tabasco, Mexico, and Sergio Mendoza of Montana; 22 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Tuesday’s service will begin at 10 a.m. in the chapel at Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave. Burial will be in Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road. Visitation will be observed from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, at the mortuary.
