Unchanged for nearly 100 million years, lobster is one of the most fascinating delicacies of the sea. Deliciously flavored and tender, lobster is considered to be one of the most delectable seafood options at the table. However, this wasn’t always the case as lobster did not achieve popularity in North America until the mid-19th century.

Today, lobster reigns as the king of crustaceans and is widely sought-after and celebrated around the world. In fact, 2013 marks the 30th anniversary of Lobsterfest at Red Lobster, the world’s largest casual dining seafood restaurant.

There’s certainly a lot to be said about this tasty shellfish. For more interesting lobster stats and eating tips, check out the infographic below (click image to view full size). For more information about Lobsterfest visit RedLobster.com or Facebook.com/RedLobster.
