According to court documents, Ka’ron Hudson — who is being tried as an adult — appeared before Judge Richard Guiliani with his hired attorney, Joel Carash, in Department 36 to enter his plea.
Hudson is charged with assault with a firearm, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and an enhancement to inflicting great bodily injury.
Investigators believe that Hudson fired three to six shots into a crowd of people after two groups of males began arguing outside a Sweet 16 birthday party at 3502 Mars Court, Ste. 141, around 11 p.m. Oct. 13.
A 17-year-old boy was shot once in the back of his right shoulder. He was taken to Sutter Tracy Community Hospital the night of the shooting and was released a few days later. Police expected he would make a full recovery, even though the bullet was still inside him when he was discharged.
On Thursday, Guiliani ordered Hudson to return to court at 8:30 a.m. Feb. 5 for a preliminary hearing in Department 35.
Hudson remains in custody in San Joaquin County Juvenile Hall in French Camp.
