John Larry Pruitt, 74, of Tracy, died March 18 after battling lung cancer. All services will be private.

Mr. Pruitt, known as “Mr. P,” was born Nov. 18, 1938, in Gadsden, Ala., and had lived in Tracy and the San Joaquin Valley the past 20 years.

Survivors include two sons, Michael Pruitt of Tracy and Richard Pruitt, and his wife, Cherie, of Stockton; and four grandchildren, with one on the way.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Henry and Elizabeth Pruitt; a brother, Douglas Pruitt; and a son, John A. Pruitt.
