Mr. Vasquez was born Feb. 8, 1928, in Kyle, Texas, and had lived in Tracy 63 years. He was a partial owner and driver for F.F. Vasquez and Sons Trucking of Tracy for 50 years.
Mr. Vasquez was a parishioner of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Virginia Vasquez of Tracy; three children, John G. Vasquez Jr., and his wife, Denise, of Ceres, Dave Vasquez, and his life partner, Carl Bullard, of Fremont and Elaine Cardoza, and her husband, Brian, of Tracy; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are five siblings, Felix Vasquez, and his wife, Rose, and Joe Vasquez, and his wife, Teresa, all of Tracy, Epie Cardoza, and her husband, John, and Mary Donato, and her husband, Daniel, all of Stockton, and Mike Vasquez, and his wife, Donna, of Oakdale; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Fausto and Frutoza Vasquez; four siblings, Lupe Acosta, Ignacio Vasquez, Isabela Lopez and Reymundo Vasquez; and a great-grandson.
Friday’s Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard’s, 163 W. Eaton Ave., followed by burial in Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road. Visitation and a vigil took place Thursday, Nov. 21, at Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave.
