Mr. Lavrinc was born Jan. 30, 1937, in Pittsburgh, Pa., and moved to Tracy in 1989.
In addition to Easy Method, he owned three driver-training schools in Pittsburgh and taught thousands of students during his 47-year career. He held many offices in state and national driving school associations.
Mr. Lavrinc served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1957 to 1959, including duty as a drill instructor.
Survivors include his wife, Mercedes Lavrinc; three sons, Damon Lavrinc, and his wife, Melissa, of Oakland, Jimmy Lavrinc, and his wife, Carol, of Pittsburgh and Lance Ewing, and his wife, Kimberly, of Memphis, Tenn.; former wife, Patricia Lavrinc of Pittsburgh; two sisters; one brother; and five grandchildren.
Friday’s Mass will begin at 11:30 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave. Visitation was observed Thursday, Sept. 6, at Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave., and burial will be private in Tracy Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Lavrinc’s name may be sent to Tracy Animal Shelter, 370 Arbor Road, Tracy, CA 95376; or to an animal rescue organization or a branch of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
