Top team was St. Mary’s with a team score of 312, and Moreau Catholic of Hayward was second, 315. Tracy, last year’s tournament champion, finished seventh out of 17 teams with a score of 338 while West was 16th with a score of 434.
The annual 18-hole tournament is a preview of next week’s league tournaments, with Tracy preparing for the San Joaquin Athletic Association tournament at Lockeford Springs Golf Course in Lodi, and West headed to the Tri-City Athletic League tournament at Oakmoore Golf Course in Stockton. Both events will be on Monday, April 30.
Tracy’s Shivam Swami made the top six individual golfers with a score of 78 on the par-72 course, good for fifth place. Tied for first were Anthony Madrid of St. Mary’s and Carlos Briones of Moreau Catholic, both with even-par 72. Dylan Delhart of Hughson was third, 76, Parker Steward of Modesto High was fourth, 77, and Jake Carroll of Escalon was fifth, 79.
Other scores for Tracy were: Robert Erler 84, Giovanni Manguray 87, Anthony Napoli 89, Alec Stroup 90.
West’s scores were: Austin Smith 100, Nick Carrera 107, Garrett Morris 112, Cody Correia 115 and Bryce Noegel 129.
Team scores were: St. Mary’s 312, Moreau Catholic 315, Modesto 326, Heritage 330, Granada 335, East Union 335, Tracy 338, Ripon 345, Escalon 349, Hughson 357, Live Oak 357, Lincoln 402, Arroyo 424, Gregori 424, Stagg 426, West 434, and Bret Harte did not have a complete team.
The tournament was moved to Patterson because the Hetch Hetchy-San Francisco water line is currently under construction at Tracy Golf and Country Club.
