The Wolf Pack soccer team started the second half of the Tri-City Athletic League season with a 3-2 victory at home over the McNair Eagles.

West coach Abel Dorado said the Wolf Pack (4-4-2, 3-2-1 TCAL) put up good pressure on offense.

“We had a lot of opportunities to score. We could have put in three or four more,” Dorado said.

Junior Colleen Burkhart scored all three of West’s goals, including one first-half shot off a cross from Saara Latifi, and another in the first half on a cross from senior Maddie Wright. Burkhart scored a third goal unassisted in the first half, and the Eagles scored their goals in the second half.

The Tracy High girls soccer team took a big step forward in its quest to win a fifth consecutive San Joaquin Athletic Association title with a 4-0 win Tuesday at Lodi High.

Tracy (14-2-1, 6-0-1 SJAA) was up 3-0 at the half. Tracy junior Jenna Wesely scored first, taking a long throw-in from senior Daesha Brown. The second goal came off a header from sophomore Ashley Hallen on a cross from Brown. Hallen scored again at the end of the first half on a cross from Kelly Brooks. Brooks scored the last goal in the second half on a pass from Hallen.

Kimball 3, Oakdale 1

The Jaguars moved ahead in the Valley Oak league with a 3-1 win at Oakdale High on April 10.

Junior Abby Dyer scored the first goal for Kimball (8-2, 7-1 VOL) with an assist from sophomore Sienna Diestler in the sixth minute. Oakdale (4-8-2, 3-5 VOL) tied it up in the 13th minute.

Kimball scored two more in the second half, the first when sophomore Samantha Trans took a pass from junior Elianna Mendoza, sprinted past the Oakdale defenders and made a running shot. Dyer scored in the 79th minute on a free kick from 25 yards out.

Freshman goalie Amanda Leal had 10 saves.

Tracy 2, Franklin 2

Tracy’s hopes for a perfect San Joaquin Athletic Association record fell to a tie on April 10 at Franklin High in Stockton.

The Bulldogs (13-2-1, 6-0-1 SJAA) were ahead 2-1 at the half, having scored on an unassisted goal from senior Kelly Brooks in the 25th minute. Franklin tied it up on a shot from the outside a minute later. Senior Cailie Chayrez scored a second Tracy goal after taking a cross from senior Daesha Brown in the 28th minute.

The game went scoreless through the second half until Franklin tied it again in the 79th minute on a penalty kick.
