In all, the Kimball team, three golfers from Tracy High and two from West move on to division-level play.
Valley Oak League
Nolen led the way for the Jaguars at the Valley Oak League championships on Tuesday at Lockeford Springs Golf Course east of Lodi.
The senior placed third overall with an individual score of 84 on the par-72 course. Kimball finished with a team score of 527, behind first-place East Union (429) and ahead of third-place Sonora (560).
Contributing to the Jaguars’ team score were Taylor Honnoll (103), Lilly Craig (105), Savannah Dunniway (112), Maya Crooms (123), and Patricia Fabila (140).
The East Union, Kimball and Sonora teams, plus six at-large individuals representing Sierra, Oakdale, Manteca and Weston Ranch high schools, will head to the SJS Division IV tournament on Monday, Oct. 22, at Elkhorn Golf Course in Stockton, where they will compete for the division title. Top teams and individual move on to the SJS Masters tournament on Monday, Oct. 29, at The Reserve in Stockton.
San Joaquin Athletic Association
Tracy High senior Jennifer Kim finished as individual champion at the San Joaquin Athletic Association golf tournament Monday, Oct. 15, at Swenson Park Golf Course in Stockton.
She is among three Bulldog golfers who finished among the top six at-large individuals at their respective league tournaments and will move on to the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I South tournament next week.
Kim shot a score of 77 on the par-74 Swenson Park course. Tracy sophomore Kirsten Bas shot 100 and senior Shelby Devlin shot 103, and they will also go to the SJS Division I South tournament.
Tracy’s team score of 505 left the Bulldogs in third place, following five-time SJAA champion Lodi (444) and runner-up Lincoln (481). The top two schools take their full teams to the division tournament.
Tracy sophomore Alee Balanon shot 111 and was one stroke shy of qualifying. Seniors Annie Fox and Rachel Haro shot 114 and 119.
Tri-City Athletic League
Two golfers from West High’s team, junior Ashley Gonzales (115) and freshman Bobbi Loggins (118), qualified for Division I South competition Monday, Oct. 15, during the Tri-City Athletic League tournament at Oakmoore Golf Course in Stockton.
West finished in fourth place at the TCAL tournament with a team score of 637. The top two teams, earning places in the Division I South tournament, were St. Mary’s (490) and Tokay (612), and the third-place team was Stagg (617).
The West golfers who missed the cut were freshman Ashley Aguilera (128), senior Vanessa Nunez (133) and sophomore Samantha McCain (143).
The Division I South tournament will be Monday, Oct. 22, at Lockeford Springs Golf Course, just east of Lodi. The leading four teams and six at-large individuals will advance the SJS Masters tournament the following Monday, Oct. 29, at The Reserve in Stockton.
