The Jaguars (2-0) charged out to a 40-12 lead at the half and didn’t let up until the fourth quarter. The leading scorer for Kimball on Tuesday was sophomore guard Allie Schmidt with 16 points. Senior Sara Searle scored 12 points, and sophomore Alexis Clark scored 10.
Gregori 68, West 57
West High’s girls were almost able to stage a comeback in the fourth quarter of their first official game of the season Tuesday, Nov. 27.
The visiting Gregori Jaguars had a 50-38 lead at the end of the third quarter, but West junior Nini Woodward led a scoring drive to cut Gregori’s lead to 52-48 before the Jaguars were back to outrebounding West and forcing turnovers.
The leading scorers for West were senior Emma Bell and sophomore Kate Bell, with 10 each, and Kate Bell and Woodward had nine rebounds each.
Ripon 36, Tracy 28
Ripon’s early lead made the difference on Tuesday, Nov. 27, in Ripon as the Tracy girls lost their first official game of the season.
The Bulldogs were plagued by missed shots and couldn’t overcome Ripon’s 19-14 halftime lead. Senior guard Karsi Fyfe led Tracy’s offense with 14 points.
Kimball 59, Tokay 29
The Jaguar girls opened their season with a win over Tokay in Lodi on Saturday, Nov. 24.
Sophomore Alexis Clark hit two 3-point shots in the first half to lead Kimball to a 27-16 halftime lead. She was the Jaguars’ leading scorer with 16 points.
Other scorers included sophomore Allie Schmidt, who scored 15, and junior Noni Kuumba, who tallied 14.
