Football teams from West and Tracy high schools will meet Friday, Sept. 21, at West High’s Steve Lopez Stadium for the 17th annual Crosstown Classic.

Kickoff for the varsity game is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.

Tracy High’s varsity football team won the first game in 1996, and the Wolf Pack came back to win the next three.

Overall, West has a 10-6 advantage over Tracy, including a five-game winning streak from 2002 to 2006.

Despite Tracy winning three of the past five games, West is the defending city champion after beating Tracy, 41-33, in 2011.

Sophomore teams line up for a 5 p.m. kickoff.

The varsity classic is the last pre-league game for both teams, which will take a week off before starting league play on Oct. 5.
