Five Guys Burgers and Fries is coming to the Tracy Marketplace shopping center on Grant Line Road.

Amie Mendes, city economic development management analyst, announced this week that the restaurant is expected to open by the end of the year in a space left by Mattress Discounters at 2972 W. Grant Line Road.

The restaurant’s online menu lists a variety of hamburgers, hotdogs, sandwiches, Cajun-style fries and bulk peanuts.

Mendes said the company is renovating the building and will add outdoor seating.

Tracysince89, who are you referring to when you say brought. This is a private business transaction. I agree it would be nice, but obviously those restaurants you mentioned were not interested in the many empty buildings here in Tracy.

If you look at the trend of Chipotle and Panera opening up in old Chevy's we may be in luck.

It's good to see new restaurant businesses opening in our area, but it would be great to promote healthier eating restaurants in Tracy such as Panera Bread or California Fresh. It's bad enough many of the residents here are on the run due to daily commutes, so bringing healthy food choices would be a much better option for our town.

Why can't the city of Tracy put more restaurants in the far south of Tracy? Like Valpico and Tracy blv area. You can only have McDonalds for so long.

And all this time I thought it was the businesses that decide where to locate, not the city of Tracy

Ornley??? My response was to Santana4 who said we needed more restaurants other then McDonald's. I was pointing that we already do have all the places I listed, so it isn't just McDonald's.
