Paulette Nicole Butera and Christopher John Marshall, both San Jose State University graduates, are engaged to be married.

The wedding date is set for May 23, 2014, at Nestldown in Los Gatos.

Chris proposed to Paulette on April 7, 2013, in front of the gym in San Jose where they met. Four years later, he replicated their first meeting in the parking lot, wearing a tuxedo instead of workout clothes as he offered her a ring.

The bride to be, daughter of Paul and Debbie Butera of San Jose, graduated from Presentation High School in San Jose and earned a psychology degree from San Jose State.

She has three siblings, Vince, Vanessa and Christina Butera, all of San Jose, and is the granddaughter of Frank and Karen Nobbs of San Jose and the late Angelo and Mary Butera.

The groom to be is the son of John Marshall of San Jose and Patricia and Gary Lambert of Tracy. He attended West High School for a semester during his sophomore year and graduated from Santa Teresa High School in San Jose. Chris earned a degree in business management at San Jose State and works for A.L.L. Roofing Materials in Livermore.

He has three siblings, Lisa Marshall of San Jose and Natalie and Nikolas Lambert of Tracy. His grandparents are Maria Esther and Ricardo Luna of San Jose and the late Patricia Anthony and Earl Marshall.
