Elizabeth ‘Dolly’ Couto

Services have been conducted for Elizabeth “Dolly” Couto, 89, who died Aug. 2 at her Tracy home.

Mrs. Couto was a native of Fortuna, born April 23, 1923. She lived in Tracy 50 years, leaving the city to move to Portugal with her husband in 1971 and returned five years later, following her husband’s death in 1973.

She worked in agriculture for many years and was a home health caregiver for 25 years.

Mrs. Couto is survived by a sister-in-law, Janelle August of Fortuna; and close friends Rosalie Miller and Pat Ortiz of Tracy and Nancy Furtado of Antioch.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Manuel Couto; and all 23 of her siblings.

Burial was in Tracy Cemetery, 501 W. Schulte Road. Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave., handled arrangements.

Contributions in Mrs. Couto’s name may be sent to the Tracy Animal Shelter, 370 Arbor Road, Tracy, CA 95376.
