Mary Tapia, 74, a Tracy resident for 60 years, died Monday, Feb. 18, in Manteca. A graveside service will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road. Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave., is handling arrangements.

• Longtime Tracy resident Gloria Nunez Wagner, 92, a founding member of the Tracy Hospital Auxiliary, died Monday, Feb. 18, at her home at Astoria Gardens. A Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. March 4 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave., followed by a reception at 1353 Parker Ave. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Sutter Tracy Community Hospital Volunteer Services, 1420 N. Tracy Blvd., Tracy, CA 95376; or to the GFWC Tracy Woman’s Club, P.O. Box 466, Tracy, CA 95378.

Joseph Amos Peters, 60, a Stockton resident, died at Dameron Hospital surrounded by his family Sunday, Feb. 17. His mother, Grace Peters-Hass, has lived in Tracy since 2005. His sister, Martha Benavidez, and her husband, Frank, also live in Tracy. Visitation will be observed from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Cherokee Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way, in Lodi. Services will begin at 1 p.m. March 3 at Free Methodist Church, 218 W. Main St., in Ripon. A reception will follow at the church.

Charlotte Tyner, 71, a Tracy resident for more than 55 years, died of chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder, a type of lung disease, on Saturday, Feb. 16, at Manteca Care and Rehabilitation Center. A celebration of her life will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave.

• Tracy native Joshua Christopher “Josh” Hanson, 37, of Sacramento, was fatally injured in an automobile accident Saturday, Feb. 16, in Sacramento. A memorial service in Tracy will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, at the First Presbyterian Church, 101 Berverdor Ave. Inurnment for family and close friends will be at Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road. Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave., is in charge of arrangements.

• Former Tracy resident Shirley Salter Varian, 77, of Grass Valley, died Feb. 14 at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital in Grass Valley. The family asks that friends and relatives write a memory of Mrs. Varian, attach it to a purple balloon and release it on Thursday, Feb. 28, her birthday.

Jennie Belle Becker, 92, died Feb. 13 at Tracy Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. A graveside service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road. Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave., is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions in Mrs. Becker's name may be sent to Tracy Animal Shelter, 370 Arbor Road, Tracy, CA 95376.

Jaime Ortiz Sanchez, 44, a lifelong Tracy resident, died Feb. 13 in Castro Valley. Visitation will be observed from 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave., with a rosary at 7 p.m. A Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave., followed by burial in Tracy Cemetery, 501 E.
