• Air Force veteran Chuck Butner, 57, a resident of Tracy the past 30 years, died Sunday, Feb. 3, at the Veterans Affairs hospital in Palo Alto. A gathering will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, in the Casa Grande room of the Tracy Inn, 30 W. 11th St. The family requests no gifts of flowers. Patrick Edward Tennyson, a Marine Corps veteran and retired sergeant in the University of California police force, died of pancreatic cancer Sunday, Feb. 3. He was 82. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, in the Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 13823 N. Beckman Road, in Lodi. A funeral Mass will be said at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at St. Joachim Catholic Church, 13392 Lockeford Ranch Road, in Lockeford, followed by a reception. Interment of ashes will be private.

Anthony L. “Tony” Costa, 90, a longtime Tracy resident, died Saturday, Feb. 2, at his home. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave. Messages for the family can be added to an online guest book at

Robert Jack “Bob” Eggers, 76, a retired mechanic and Navy veteran, died Friday, Feb. 1, at his Tracy home. A funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Feb. 15 in the chapel of Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave. Burial will be private. Contributions in Mr. Eggers’ name may be sent to American Cancer Society, San Joaquin-Calaveras Chapter, 207 E. Alpine Ave., Stockton, CA 95204.

Evaristo Hernandez, a 50-year Tracy resident, died Jan. 31 at his home. He was 84. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, in the chapel of Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave. Burial will follow in Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road.
