Tokay High’s varsity boys cross-country team took a narrow win over West High’s varsity boys in Tri-City Athletic League competition on Wednesday, Sept. 12.

Also this past week, the Millennium High cross country team kept up its momentum with a second first-place finish for the varsity girls, at the Falcons’ second Central California Athletic Alliance/Mountain Valley League cluster meet of the year.

The boys placed with a third-place finish at the meet.

West at Tokay

West High’s varsity boys came close, but finished with a team loss in their second cross-country dual meet against Tokay on Wednesday, Sept. 12, at American Legion Park in Stockton. It puts West’s boys at 1-1 in the TCAL, and West’s girls took a team loss and are 0-2 in the TCAL.

Tokay’s varsity boys beat West 25-31. Top runner for West was Richard Tran, who ran the 5K course with a third-place time of 18:41.

Also among the top five runners scoring for West were: Nick Vik (18:47), Yuavan Robles (19:28), Josh Sale (20:03) and Jacob Sale (20:26). Other West runners were Chandler Chen (20:30), Barak Nehoran (21:06), Mico Torregosa (22:51), Nathan Bahn (24:58) and Justin Hoang (33:07).

Tokay won the varsity girls division 15-45, with Tokay finishing with the top five places. Times for West were: Lydia Young (23:08), Elise Green (26:57), Natasha Bartolome (28:45), Sabrina Freeman (29:24) and Alli Weseman (34:21).

Millennium at cluster meet

The Falcon varsity boys finished third among six teams at their most recent CCAA/MVL cluster meet on Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Tioga High School in Groveland.

Sierra Ridge/ROP won Tuesday’s varsity boys meet with a team score of 42. Tioga scored 49 and Millennium scored 51. Also competing were Elliot Christian, 84, and

Big Valley Christian, 258.

Millennium’s top runner was Spencer Blackwell with a sixth-place time of 22:20 on the 5K course. Other Falcon runners were J.T. Amador (23:00), Donoban Salinas (23:40), Daniel Scahill (23:54), Josh Harrison (26:26), Jude Ocampo (27:06), and Paul Cardeas (27:14).

The Falcon girls won with a team score of 25. Elliot Christian scored 130 and Tioga scored 117. Millennium’s Anneliese Bradley was the winner with a time of 25:26 on the 5K course.

Other Millennium runners were: Estifania Torres (29:22), Sereana Cho (29.22), Prianna Patel (30:49), Virginia Xuereb (35:42), Gianna Oliveri (36:43), and Marrissa Walten (36:46).
