Two masked men with guns stole about $2,500 in cash Monday night, along with 700 lottery tickets and three bottles of booze worth $800, from Top Shelf Wine, 2242 W. Grant Line Road.

The men burst through the doors at about 10 p.m., wearing masks and gloves and carrying guns, according to the Tracy Police Department log.

One person was told to lie on the floor as the men gathered their loot. A customer saw the pair run around the back of the business when they left, the log says.

A nearby Tracy resident reported that a car near Valley View and Foothill Ranch drives had been sitting there for a couple of hours when two men got sweaters out of the car and ran in the direction of the wine store, the blotter says.

The car that was found there turned out to have been reported as stolen from West High School earlier in the day, and Sgt. Tony Sheneman said Tracy police think it is unrelated to the robbery.

The suspects were described as black men between 18 and 20 years old, 5-foot-6 and about 160 pounds. They wore black hoodies when they robbed the store, Sheneman said.

A police dog searched the area unsuccessfully for the suspects, and there are few clues, the sergeant said.

It doesn't say that they were from the Bay Area, but aren't the lottery tickets serialized? If so they may be able to approximate their location by checking where the tickets have been cached in. I'm sure they already collected their "winnings" by now?
