YLI to initiate new members

Three newcomers are set to join the Young Ladies Institute during its June meeting at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave.

The group will meet in the small hall at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, to initiate the new members and elect 2013-14 officers, who will be installed July 10.

A gag gift exchange will follow the meeting. YLI members are encouraged to wrap an inexpensive handmade or found item in newspaper, “just for a few laughs.”

During their May 8 meeting, YLI members considered prospective officers before adjourning to enjoy dessert prepared by Lorraine and Arlene Avila and play a few hands of cards.
