YLI to collect toys for Military Moms

Each member of the Young Ladies Institute at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church is asked to donate a child’s toy during the April 10 meeting.

The toys will be given to Military Moms of Tracy.

The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. in the small hall at the church, 163 W. Eaton Ave. Refreshments will be served following the meeting.

Sustainable development talk at DCRW meeting

Speaker Heather Gass will discuss sustainable development in a talk titled “Agenda 21” during the April 9 meeting of the Delta Central Republican Women’s Club.

The recently formed group meets the second Tuesday of each month and emphasizes fun and informative events. All are welcome to attend.

Meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. in the third-floor meeting room at Emeritus at Heritage Place, 355 W. Grant Line Road. A half-hour social time precedes each meeting.

Garden club to reconvene

For its first meeting of the year, Tracy Garden Club will learn about how to use wooden pallets in the garden.

The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. April 10.

The club meets in members’ homes the second Wednesday of each month from April to October.

Times and locations vary each month, and those who are interested in attending a meeting should call or email for details.

All Tracy Garden Club activities are free, and no dues are collected.

Atheists group plans brunch

The Stockton Area Atheists and Freethinkers will gather for its first Tracy brunch get-together at 10 a.m. May 6 at Casa Flores Restaurant, 2503 N. Tracy Blvd.

According to David A. Ewert, one of the organizers, all are welcome for lively discussion.

The brunch is expected to become a regular event on the first Saturday of each month.

There is no charge to participate, aside from the cost of coffee or a meal from the restaurant.
