Club Notes: GOP women shooting event; Legion Auxiliary meets

The Tracy Republican Women will host its third annual Grill and Shoot from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 17, a Saturday, at the Manteca Sportsman Club, 30261 S. Airport Way.

Guns and ammunition will be provided, along with free safety instruction, and lunch will be served at noon. Instructors will give demonstrations at archery, hatchet-throwing and themed-shooting stations.

Those who wish to take their own guns must also take ammunition.

Tickets are $25 per person. Children age 13 and younger may attend free of charge.

Legion Auxiliary to meet

The American Legion Auxiliary, James McDermott Unit 172, will meet at noon Tuesday, Aug. 23, at Perko’s Café.
