Tracy Buccaneers

Starts

Bucs 6 vs. Modesto Titans 0

The Tracy Buccaneers began their National Youth Football League season Saturday with a win against the Modesto Titans at Tracy High’s Peter B. Kyne Field.

The game remained scoreless until the last play of the fourth quarter. The Bucs had possession of the ball with less than a minute left. A fumble on their own 20-yard line left the Titans in good scoring position.

But with 12 seconds left, Jake Dunniway and Garrett Harris forced a fumble from the Titans quarterback, and Damien Chaves picked up the loose ball and ran it back 80 yards for the game-winning score.

Rookies

Titans 13 vs. Bucs 0

The Buccaneers only allowed two touchdowns on the day, but that was all the Titans needed to come away with the win Saturday.

Junior varsity

Bucs 20 vs. Titans 0

The Buccaneers came away with a shutout win against the Titans on Saturday. Bruce Russell, Rac Costa and Anthony Nunez each recorded sacks, and Brandon Rodriguez came away with two interceptions as part of an outstanding defensive effort.

Russell put the first Tracy points on the board with a 10-yard touchdown run, and Michael Montoya scored twice with rushes of 10 and 40 yards.

Varsity

Titans 36 vs. Bucs 0

The Bucs were shut out against the Titans on Saturday. Quarterback Raj Kumar led the Bucs in a good effort, but the team was unable to score, and could not stop the Titans’ offensive onslaught.

This weekend’s games canceled, the Buccaneers will play their next game against the Calvary Panthers in Modesto on Aug. 25.
