Steven Wayne Raridon, 32, and Melvin Mahlon Syester II, 39, were arrested after San Joaquin County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene of an alleged theft in progress on the 30900 block of South Tracy Boulevard at 10:12 a.m.
According to the press release, both men were reportedly seen by deputies loading a flatbed trailer with stolen goods valued at $3,600. The vehicle that was towing the trailer was reportedly stolen out of the city of Manteca.
During the investigation, the release stated that deputies learned both men allegedly conspired to steal scrap metal from a construction company prior to allegedly trespassing onto the Tracy Boulevard property.
Raridon and Syester were booked into San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, grand theft, possession of stolen property conspiracy and trespassing.
According to the San Joaquin County Jail website, Raridon is being held on $233,000 bail, and scheduled for arraignment in San Joaquin County Superior Court in Manteca at 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 9. No information was available on Syester.
