Through the company Facebook page, Freebirds officials have announced plans to offer the first 25 customers at the Tracy grand opening free burritos for a year.
Freebirds will be open from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Bakery opens on 10th Street
A Tracy couple has revived a downtown bakery on 10th Street with new Mexican flair.
Owned and operated by Yolanda and Eleazar Lopez Sr., and their son, Eleazar Jr., and his wife, Cynthia, Nana Olie’s Panaderia officially opened July 27.
Located at 50 W. 10th St., the bakery offers a variety of authentic Mexican baked goods from Lopez’s hometown of Oaxaca, Mexico, as well as a taqueria breakfast and lunch menu that will feature Yolanda’s recipes.
“They ran a successful (bakery) business for a very long time, 18-years, in Moorpark,” Cynthia Lopez said of her in-laws. “The baking history comes from his (Eleazar’s) side, with his dad a baker and all his brothers bakers in Mexico. It goes back four generations.”
After searching for a new place to reopen their bakery, Lopez said it was destiny when they discovered the closure of what was then called Downtown Bakery.
“Ideally, we wanted to go downtown, so when opportunity arose and an actual bakery downtown became available, we jumped at it,” Lopez said.
In addition to specialized cakes for all occasions, Nana Olie’s Panaderia will also offer specialties like menudo, tamales and tres leches.
Nana Olie’s will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

A bakery with Mexican twist.
There are more Mexican joints than any other type eatery here. What ever happened to the good old fashioned American Diner? Hot roast beef sandwiches with mashed potatoes specials, breakfast specials and lunch specials with homemade soup of the day. I know we are being taken over but that doesn't mean we must eat their unhealthy diet.
