A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, April 12, for Benjamin Marquez, 42, a landscaping business owner, who died Friday, April 5, at Sutter Tracy Community Hospital following a brief illness.

Born in Jan. 23, 1971, Mr. Marquez was a native of Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco, Mexico, and a parishioner of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. He owned and operated Marquez Landscaping Co. of Tracy for 15 years.

Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Alma Marquez of Tracy; two daughters, Anahi Marquez and Adriana Marquez, both of Tracy; mother, Petra Marquez of Mexico; and two grandchildren.

Also surviving are 10 siblings, Carmelo, Antonio, Gustavo, Efren, Jose Luis, Ramiro, Juan Pablo, Olga, Maricela and Rosalba Marquez, all of Mexico.

Preceding him in death were his father, Macedonio Marquez; and a brother, also named Benjamin Marquez.

The Mass will begin at 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave. Burial will follow in Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road. Prior to the Mass, visitation will be observed from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Friday, followed by the recital of a rosary at 10 a.m.

Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave., is handling arrangements.
