Dante and Goldie Ridolfi, longtime Tracy residents, recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.

The milestone was recognized during a family gathering at the Red Lobster restaurant in Modesto.

Dante (called “Don” by most friends) and Goldie met in 1942 in Redding and were married a short time later. Don soon shipped out with the U.S. Marine Corps to the Pacific for World War II duty and was overseas when their first child, daughter Faith, was born.

After the war, the family settled in Tracy, and Don started work at the new H.J. Heinz Co. factory. He later worked at the St. Regis Paper Co. and finally at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory before retiring.

Goldie worked at the Southern Pacific Railroad.

For years, Don played in bands and also had his own band that played at many Tracy events. He and Goldie have been active in the American Legion and Auxiliary.

The honorees have four children, Faith Eskue, Stephen Ridolfi, A’Enene Herriage and Sue Ellen Taylor; 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
