Alternativo U11 boys Milan wins SF Cup

Alternativo Futbol Club’s AC Milan under-11 boys won the tournament title this past weekend, May 26 to 28, at the San Francisco 2012 Cup in Golden Gate Park.

Milan opened with a 2-0 win over ACC Mavericks Academy and then beat ACC Mavericks Vapors 6-0 on Saturday. Sunday’s games included a 5-4 win over the host team, SF Mission Green, and Milan then beat Stanford Catatumbo 2-0 in Sunday’s semifinal game.

Milan won Monday’s final 3-0, again over SF Mission Green. Estevan Murillo, Ricardo Benitez and Christopher Barron all scored goals for Milan.

Defensively, the Milan team held its opponents scoreless in four out of five games, with goalie Julio Fuentes and Tyler Gaudreau, Zack Kelsey and Nathan Negrete as the team’s defenders. Midfielders are Murillo, Carlos Terriquez, Carlos Oliva, Gilbert Fuentes, Miguel Angel and Ajmall Gulham, and forwards include Barron, Benitez, Leonardo Hernandez, Emiliano Olmos and Travian Sousa.

Milan’s coaches are Pedro Barron, Rafael Heredia and Raul Olmos.
