Alliance started the weekend with two decisive wins, a 6-0 win over Diablo FC Blue the Crew and a 6-1 win over Mustang Soccer Velocity. Alliance had a 2-1 loss to American River FC Freedom but still qualified for the semifinal round.
Alliance went on to beat EGAFC Heat 2-0 and continued to the championship game, where Marissa Paz, also a player on the Kimball High soccer team, scored a hat trick as her team beat Placer United White 3-1 for the tournament title. That performance landed Paz the tournament’s Most Valuable Player award.
The Alliance team also includes Mollie Brady, a Kimball player, and Kellie Piazza and Shelby Devlin, who both go to Tracy High. Other players come from Manteca, Stockton and Modesto.
