Corey is a sweet, talkative kitten, especially when it’s time to eat and he thinks his meal is taking too long to arrive. He is playful and loves gamboling with the other rescue kittens. He arrived at East of Eden with his nearly identical brother Reo, who is also looking for a home. (Adoption fees are reduced if a pair of kittens is adopted.) Corey is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccinations.
• East of Eden is a nonprofit animal rescue organization. Its volunteers are at Petco, 2888 Grant Line Road, from noon to 3 p.m. Saturdays. For information, call 815-5186.
To the Rescue
A few weeks after Animal Rescue of Tracy volunteers rescued a little long-haired female this summer, she delivered three surprises: Puppies Milly, Mingus and Midge are now 9 weeks old and ready to be adopted. The pups have been dewormed and had their first shots, they sleep in a crate, and they are learning to use indoor potty pads. Rescuers describe Milly as “wise,” Mingus (the lone male) as “fearless” and Midge, the littlest, as “precious.” Mother Suzie Q, a Pomeranian or long-haired Chihuahua mix, also needs a home.
• Animal Rescue of Tracy is a nonprofit, all-volunteer rescue group that has pet adoption fairs for dogs and cats from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays at the West Valley Mall. Members will also make arrangements to show animals in rescue during the week. For information: 642-4324.
At the Shelter
Minnie is a 1-year-old female miniature pinscher looking for a home. The shelter also has other dogs, cats and kittens waiting to be adopted. The staff seeks donations of canned or dry dog and cat food.

People for Pets
Jesse is a blue merle Australian shepherd mix. He’s about 2 years old and weighs about 50 pounds. He is a little shy at first, but he’s very social with people and other dogs and would probably be happiest with a canine companion. Jesse is spayed and current on his shots.
• People for Pets has several other dogs and cats ready for adoption and hosts adoption fairs between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturdays at PetSmart, 2477 N. Naglee Road. For information: 933-6274 or inquiries@peopleforpets.com.
