Siblings continue education

Tyler Zellmer, a 2008 graduate of Delta Charter High School, recently graduated magna cum laude from Clemson University in South Carolina. He received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with general and departmental honors.

He will study for a master’s degree in mechanical engineering at Clemson, where he was awarded a research assistantship.

He is working for the summer as a mechanical engineer at Integenix Inc. in Pleasanton.

Lynsie Zellmer, a 2011 graduate of Tracy High School, earned a place on the dean’s list in each of her first two semesters at Appalachian State University in North Carolina, where she is pursuing a degree in health promotion and a minor in communication.

She has a summer job as a teacher’s aide at Valley Montessori School in Livermore and also gives private volleyball lessons in Tracy.

Tyler and Lynsie Zellmer are the children of Russ and Angela Zellmer of Tracy.

Recent graduate wins academic scholarship

An alumna of Delta Charter High School and St. Bernard’s Catholic School will attend Carroll College in Helena, Mont., on an academic scholarship beginning in August.

Gabrielle Maria Farmer of Tracy received the college’s All Saints Award for academic achievement. She intends to study forensic medicine at Carroll, a four-year Catholic college that emphasizes programs in the biological sciences.

Farmer graduated with honors from Delta Charter in June and received the President’s Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement and the Pinnacle Award for Distinguished Students from the Stockton Record.

This summer, she is working as an intern at Sandia National Laboratory in Livermore.

Farmer is the daughter of Joe and Janet Farmer, sister of Christina Farmer and granddaughter of John and Jean Laufman of Redding and Polly Farmer of Hillsville, Va.

Millennium grad earns degree

Julia Robertson, a member of Millennium High School’s first graduating class in 2008, graduated June 16 with a bachelor’s degree in political science and history from University of California, San Diego.

During her college career, she spent a semester abroad at Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey.

Her family — including parents John and Valerie Robertson and brothers David and Nick Robertson — has lived in Tracy since 1997.

Local student on dean’s list

Among the students earning spring dean’s list recognition at California State University, Monterey Bay, was Chanelle Cecchi, a 2006 graduate of Tracy High School.

Cecchi recently completed her junior year at the university, where she is majoring in social and behavioral sciences.

She is the daughter of Rich and Jill Cecchi of Tracy.

Students who earned a GPA of 3.5 or better for at least 12 units were named to the dean’s list.
