The 23rd annual Tracy Bean Festival will feature two entertainment stages jam-packed full of bands and events for the whole weekend — the Bean Stage and the Community Stage.
Some of the featured music will be local delights, including blues band DarkHorse, which will kick off the weekend’s entertainment Saturday morning, and community member Kim Krenik and her vocal students, who will sing early Sunday afternoon. The Main Street Jazz Band will round out the festival later that day.
A few of the other locals performing are The Esquires, a soul and blues band; Network, an oldies rock band; and Latin Essence, a Latin band.
Among the main entertainers on the billing is Natasha James, nominee for Country Single of the Year at the 19th annual Los Angeles Music Awards. James’ music has been described by Music Connection as “country steeped in blues and Tex-Mex, with a nod to Janis Joplin and Emmy Lou Harris.” James will perform Saturday afternoon on the Bean Stage.
The Ajuku Girls, a Japanese bubblegum-pop group from Los Angeles, combine sweet lyrics, bright and colorful Harajuku fashion and dance routines. The Ajuku Girls will be on the Bean Stage at midday Saturday.
