According to BevMo! officials, the liquor emporium’s home has yet to be built. The 9,000-square-foot building is slated to go on a plot of land between the Golden Corral restaurant and Mancini’s Sleepworld at 2860 W. Grant Line Road, near Interstate 205
“We’re hoping to open in November,” said Liz Zaninovich, who is a licensing permit and titling specialist with BevMo!.
BevMo! carries a wide array of spirits, wines, beer, soft drinks and bar equipment.
The director of BevMo! public relations, Kris Mulkey, said the company has a few more details to work out, so the actual opening date may change. She said her company has a long list of places where they would like to build a store, and chose Tracy.
The closest BevMo! stores to Tracy are in Stockton at 6393 Pacific Ave. and Livermore at 4454 Las Positas Road.
“We’re super excited about going there,” Mulkey said. “We’re always looking for a good site with good parking, good accessibility and visibility.”
Talk of a new retail business going into the Tracy Marketplace shopping center surfaced in mid-April, when commercial real estate broker Jeff Brotman went before the Tracy Planning Commission. Brotman sought and received approval to expand the number of businesses the marketplace could advertise on the large shopping center sign adjacent to Interstate 205.
Brotman said earlier this week he was not at liberty to confirm that BevMo! was the business set to move into the shopping center by the end of the year.
