Ed Watters, Brad Gilbert and Michael McRay of Outdoor Living Studio, are answering the questions for today’s Small Business Snapshot.
What is the primary purpose of your business? Comprehensive packages for the outdoor setting including pools, fireplaces, outdoor kitchens, patios, landscape and night lighting.
What is your business background? Landscape design.
Why did you start this particular business? We wanted to separate our landscape company from our design operations and to create a outdoor showroom customers could come and pick products to use in their settings.
What makes your business unique? It is the only one like it in Rome, combining all the elements and products that make up the outdoor settings of one’s home.
What do you enjoy most about your chosen profession? Fulfilling customer wants and needs and creating enjoyable spaces that are functional and aesthetic. Giving the customer the ability to entertain, relax and enjoy.
What has been the biggest or most interesting challenge to overcome as a small business owner? Being a new concept it was hard for others to grasp the idea and also to make it feel as much like the outdoors as possible, being that it is inside.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers? We hope to have events at the location as well, with an activity room upstairs for educating and holding club meetings. Visit our showroom to create your personal outdoor living dream.
