Fundraiser to showcase classic movie

A showing of “To Have and Have Not,” the 1944 film classic that first united Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall, will be featured during Inner Wheel’s third annual Dinner and Movie Night next month.

The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 18 in the garden of La Bonne Vie Cellars on Lehman Road. Food, wine and beverages will be served before the movie is projected on an outdoor screen.

Tickets, $35 each, can be reserved by phoning Joan Matthews at 835-2082. Proceeds will help support Tracy Interfaith Ministries and McHenry House, Tracy’s family homeless shelter.



Tracy Woman’s Club meets

The GFWC Tracy Woman’s Club will meet at 11 a.m. today, Sept. 3, in the Tracy Elks Lodge, 6400 W. 11th St. The guest speaker will be Janet Thiessen, Tracy’s chief of police, and the two high school HOBY representatives will be introduced. Guests are welcome. Reservations are needed.

Brotherhood of St. Anthony meets

The Brotherhood of St. Anthony Council No. 5 will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, at 33 W. Seventh St. After the meeting, dessert and coffee will be served.
