A woman went to the Tracy Police Department at 8:06 p.m. Saturday and turned over a flashlight that might be associated with a crime in Calaveras County. She said that her mother had given her the flashlight, and then called her and said to get rid of it because it was possibly used as a weapon in a homicide. Police believe that a name on the flashlight is also the name of the person who told the mother to get rid of it.

Capt. Jim Macedo of the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Department said his department’s investigators don’t know if the flashlight is related to their case, but they are interested in taking a look at the flashlight and talking to the woman who turned it in.

The case dates back to July 16, when a 61-year-old man was attacked in a home-invasion robbery in San Andreas. Three people forced their way into his house on Golden Gate Court. The victim and two other people were in the house at the time.

The department’s statement on the case says that the victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. He was able to tell deputies that one of the robbers had a gun, but didn’t fire any shots. The victim later died at the hospital, and so far investigators aren’t releasing any more information on the nature of the attack.

Macedo said it’s unclear if the robbers knew the victim. Deputies found drug-related evidence at the house, but didn’t say if that evidence was associated with the victim or the robbers.

Tracy Police logged 449 calls on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, including the following reports:

Friday, August 6

3:00 a.m.: Police went to the 1200 block of Gentry Court after someone reported a car break-in. The caller described a suspicious-looking man who had been in the area. Police found the man, learned that he was on probation for previous weapons and drug charges, and arrested him. Specific charges against him were not available. David Hidrogo, 22, was taken to San Joaquin County Jail and awaits a Tuesday court date in Manteca.

9:48 a.m.: A person on the 2600 block of Colony Drive reported that a federal government check had been taking out of the caller’s mailbox and ripped up. Police found the culprits, a neighbor’s children, ages 6 and 4, but they apologized when confronted.

11:00 a.m.: An employee of Best Buy, 2550 Naglee Road, reported that someone brought in two laptop computers and asked one of the technicians to help recover lost passwords. The technician suspected the computers were stolen, and police confirmed that they had been reported stolen out of Pleasanton. Police arrested Deondra Deshon Crittenden, 31, on suspicion of possession of stolen property. He was taken to San Joaquin County Jail and held without bail pending a Tuesday morning court date in Manteca.

2:17 p.m.: Someone stole a video camera from Bonfare Market, 15 E. Grant Line Road. The store has the recording of the person stealing the camera.

9:07 p.m.: A person called police to report that someone’s Facebook page included information on the abduction of a 6-year-old child out of Mountain View. Police looked into it and tracked down family members and a San Jose Police Department case involving a woman’s arrest on suspicion of domestic violence. Police eventually found the child at a grandmother’s house in Tracy, and determined that it was a child custody dispute.

10:52 p.m.: Police arrested a 41-year-old man on suspicion of drunken driving after an officer made a traffic stop at 10th Street and Central Avenue. The man’s truck was towed.

Saturday, August 7

12:03 a.m.: The California Highway Patrol asked Tracy Police for help arresting a drunken driving suspect at Grant Line Road and Tracy Boulevard. The 41-year-old man was taken to San Joaquin County Jail on suspicion of drunken driving and resisting arrest.

2:56 a.m.: A woman reported that someone stole her purse and used one of her credit cards to run up a $20 bill at Jack-In-The-Box, 1935 W. 11th Street.

6:28 a.m.: A person on the 3000 block of Garden Court found a green Lexus with its wheels gone parked in the street. Police learned that the car had been stolen at gunpoint the night before in San Leandro. There was no damage to the car, aside from the missing 24-inch rims, and the Oakland Police are handling the carjacking investigation.

7:37 a.m.: Police investigated a car crash between a silver Hyundai and a White Ford Ranger at the intersection of MacArthur Drive and Valpico Road. The driver of the Hyundai reportedly walked away from the crash and police made an arrest. Specific charges were unclear.

12:13 a.m.: Someone stole a trailer with two Yamaha jet skis from the 600 block of Forest Hills Drive. Police took a report.

3:44 p.m.: Police went to Tracy Public Library, 20 E. Eaton Ave., for a report of a woman who was being loud and abusive to library workers after her library card was rejected, and she was informed that she owed the library money. Police arrested the women on suspicion of disturbing the peace.

11:52 p.m.: Police arrested a 35-year-old man on suspicion of forgery after a traffic stop at Buthmann Avenue and Clover Road.

Sunday, August 8

2:38 a.m.: Police, firefighters and an ambulance crew went to Scarlett Place after an 18-year-old man put his fist through a fish tank and was bleeding. It was the second visit by the police, who went to the house earlier after the man came home drunk and started an argument with his father.

2:42 a.m.: Two men with guns and badges were following two women behind Sunset Liquors, 2355 Parker Ave, according to a caller who said the men did not appear to be real police officers. Police stopped a Chevrolet Suburban matching the description of the men’s car and held a person at gunpoint, but a witness said it was the wrong car. Meanwhile another officer called an ambulance for a woman on the ground back at the shopping center, but it turned out she just had too much to drink. Police drove her home and turned her over to her roommate.

7:32 p.m.: Police made a traffic stop an a car that was all over the road, heading east on Byron Road near Lammers Road. The driver, a 53-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of drunken driver and his car was towed.

11:25 p.m.: A woman told police that someone is stalking her 16-year-old daughter, and left a flower with a card on the family’s doorstep, rang the doorbell and ran away. She called 9-1-1 12 minutes later to ask when an officer would be there. Police investigated, and believe that a teenage boy left the flower and card.

to fortheunderdog: My point is the name your parents give you is like a tatoo. It follows you all your life. NSA's computers tracking national and international communications will red light the name Muhammad and green light Smith. Hippie parents naming their kid Magic Mushroom have by doing so determined the course of their child's future. Is our's a perfect world? No,it is'nt. Do not lose yourself with illusions of current, political correctness.

MMMMmmmm, could the Lexus Rim be brimming with something?

Or, it could be done by the same low profile idiot who used stolen credit card for Tacos.

Rims and Tacos... go figure!

I don't think it's the two kids who tore up Federal checks!

"Tinfoil's psychic powers tell him that the name 'Deondra Deshon' means he's a black guy. And with two laptop computers this is guaranteed prison time. I should've gone thru the Police Academy when I was a kid. I'd be a millionaire now."

I don't think you had what it takes to graduate from a police academy. Your racist assumptions would have had you doing push-ups all day.

24" rims stolen off of a Lexus? It could only be an improvement.

CN and B-dub; You may be on to something here.

Following the model that we've put our grandchildren under a severe financial burden: The two children took it upon themselves to become their generations first political rebels by tearing up paper money issued by the government with no real hard currency behind it.

Then, they were sent to bed with out federal assistance.

However, remembering the era of their forefathers (their) behavior was exemplary as they were extremely courteous and articulate with their apologies.

it was later learned that while one extremely unattractive Lexus mounted on oversized 24 inch rims was no longer visually assaulting the public, its only a matter of time till they show up on another car that would be better off smashed into a little box of soon to be recycled metal on its was to the local junk yard.

Investigating officers were on the look out for a suspect in possesion of two ultimate cheeseburgers and five jack in the box tacos and clearly not enough sense to start their stolen credit card crime spree with a trip to an electronic store prior to attracting police attention through an ill advised trip to the local 24 hour fast food eatery.

After an extensive explanation that leaving a card and flowers for a girl is a only a young boy's right of courtship, when it was learned that Stan had come back and held up his boom box tuned to the endearing vocal wonder of peter gabriel's "In your eyes", Diane's overprotective mother about lost her marbles and demanded the boy be arrested.

*disclaimer, must have watched one of the great 80s movies say anything, to get the joke

It was later learned the "culprits" in question were sent to bed early without desert.

In a related story it was also learned that elements of the tea party have gone to extreme measures to stem the tide of what they see has needless government spending to include enlisting even the youngest opportunists to help them in their war against Obamamania.

Jane went down to the library for some reading and fun.

Instead it turned out she owed money yet had none.

When her card was denied she was simply beside, naturally became boisterous and began to flail.

Soon Jane was being seen going off to jail.

With any luck by Monday she should make bail.

Without any clue, this could happen to you, and join Jane in singing 'Rhapsody in Blue'.

-There may be more to the story. I don't think having a 'crush' is a crime and I would be tickled pink with the flower. I wonder if the daughter was involved with this call?

i wonder if Deondra Crittenden, 31 here http://www.sj-r.com/features/x1070020637/Take-it-all-off-the-top-meet-the-voluntarily-bald

is the same CRITTENDEN, DEONDRA DESHON DOB in 1979, here. Also booked on a parole violation

or perhaps even the same one here?

Resisting arrest: At about 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, officers witnessed a hand-to-hand drug sale in the 400 block of San Joaquin Street and ran after one of the people involved, police reported. A suspect, identified as Deondra Crittenden, 31, of Tracy, got stuck on a fence and was arrested on suspicion of parole violation and resisting arrest.

http://www.recordnet.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20100318/A_NEWS0201/3180319/0/A_NEWS

just asking...

didn't look at myspace, but maybe the same "Headz Banga Money Graba Deondra Crittenden" on that site?
