Students at Bohn Elementary School got a hands-on look at the world of science today, in the school’s first Science Fair.

Students prepared exhibits such as frog dissections, vinegar-powered volcanoes, bottle rockets and more. Jose Vega, a fifth-grade teacher at Bohn, said he hopes this becomes an annual thing. Fellow teacher Sandra Gallegos said teachers got the idea to put on a science fair after a field trip to the Exploratorium in San Francisco.

With the exception of the frogs and dry ice, students brought their own materials and created exhibits from their ideas. They ranged in simple studies, such as studying rocks, to more complex experiments, like creating ice cream with dry ice.
